The Media Academy at Fremont High School, which is situated in East Oakland, California, is a Career Technical Pathway for students who desire to immerse themselves in a multi-media training environment. Expanding students' knowledge and abilities to produce, assess, and manage media content is our aim. We give students the tools they need to be ethical consumers, prosumers, and critical thinkers. We offer individualized learning opportunities to help kids become ready for life after high school, including life as independent artists and business owners, college, and careers.

Project-based coursework includes learning in design visuals and graphics, photography and photo essays, podcasting, audio, and video editing and production, 360 films, Augmented Reality Content, short-form documentary films, graphic animation, journalism interviewing and reporting, scriptwriting, social media marketing, reporting news, and writing feature stories, and presentation skills. Students will also be connected to industry partners as guest speakers, project advisors, and internship hosts.
